The Greatest Business Opportunity in Human History

 Written by Peter Li-Chang Kuo

(Chinese)

The Scripture says: "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!" (Matthew 19:26). Human limitations make it difficult to achieve goals by our own efforts, but with divine help, everything is possible.

Back when the world was still chaotic, political and economic leaders from various economies gathered around the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) podium, curiously asking about the future business opportunities of the "universal cashless system" they heard of for the first time. The speaker, Linda Din, firmly answered on stage: "10 trillion in US dollars!"

Many things are beyond ordinary human imagination. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the "cashless system" Linda Din brought to the world reached an annual transaction volume of “36 trillion US dollars”—3.6 times the 10 trillion US dollars she mentioned at APEC in 2003—becoming the greatest business opportunity in human history. At an expert meeting in New York, it was further estimated that it already "to help 1.5 billion people earn money from home"—far exceeding the 240 million people stated in the APEC Ministers' Joint Statement at that time.

Taiwan's industrial transformation from 1981 to 1985 failed, causing foreign investors to withdraw and leaving behind a large wave of unemployment. I developed the "satellite receiver" which expected to be launched in 1986. During this transitional period, a housewife named "Linda Din" surprisingly proposed the "Rich Taiwan Plan," advocating "Social Responsibility Investment" (SRI) and innovative industries to solve unemployment problems.

Fig 1: Linda Din achieved the "Rich Taiwan Plan"

Linda Din was a devout person who practiced strict vegetarianism and devoted herself to morning and evening prayers, fully embodying the state described in Psalm 1:2: "her delight is in God's law and meditates day and night." One day during her spiritual meditation, a sudden inspiration struck her. She quickly grabbed paper, pen, scissors and glue, and created a schematic diagram of the "Electronic Store System."

Fig 2: A Schematic Diagram of "The eStore System"

Since no technology company worldwide knew what this "Electronic Store System" was, we abbreviated "Electronic Store" to "eStore"—this small "e" later became a global tech trend. Because the system was original, we added the article "the" to become "The eStore System," meaning a divinely bestowed electronic store system that would bring hope to many and represent a revolutionary new commercial mechanism (ComMec).

"The eStore System" was still too long, so we condensed it to "TES." Linda Din formally proposed "Global Channel - TES" at APEC, promoting E-Commerce legislation and winning recognition as the best practice to address the needs of small and medium enterprises' export. Ministers from various economies said: "This is the best guidance to help 240 million people start businesses!" The world moved from chaos into a kingdom of light, eagerly entering the "contactless" era shaped by Linda Din’s dedicated efforts.

I still vividly recall the time when Mr. Chao Yao-Dong, having been reassigned from Minister of Economic Affairs to Chairman of the Economic Planning Council due to a failed attempt at industrial transformation, was someone I approached to propose a national shift toward the "TES-based E-Commerce Industry." After rigorous calculations, TES was projected to generate a global business opportunity worth up to $10 trillion USD. Taiwan was expected to capture approximately 20% of that—around $2 trillion USD, positioning it to become the richest country in the world.

Unfortunately, Mr. Chao looked bewildered and replied, "The government has no money!" Another person said, "Contactless semiconductors? They won't be possible even in 50 years!"

Unexpectedly, this small woman, Linda Din, said, "Then we will do it ourselves!" Her spiritual intuition assured her that TES would enrich Taiwan, create new jobs, and solve structural social problems. From 1986 to 1997, she worked tirelessly for 11 years to achieve research results to share at APEC in Vancouver with leaders from various economies.

And throughout the process, we only spent the equivalent of what it would cost to buy 150 McLaren Artura sports cars.

At the time, people were still reeling from the impact of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and didn’t know what to do next, when suddenly, from a small island, came Linda Din (Ding Ling-Hong) with a groundbreaking, cross-century invention—like a gift from heaven. She was then invited to be an invited speaker at the 1998 APEC meeting in Kuala Lumpur, where she helped facilitate the creation of the "E-Commerce Law." Later, in 2000 at APEC in Brunei, she initiated the idea of "ICT" (Information and Communication Technology), which was subsequently adopted at the 2001 APEC summit in Shanghai.

Fig 3: Linda Din Proposing the E-Commerce Legislation at APEC

Unexpectedly, a business trip to Japan during the Lunar New Year holidays to promote TES’s VAM and eStore, and returning on January 27, 2001, our home was to find signs of a break-in. We rushed to the office, the roll-up door had been pried open, and all our servers, research data, and results—including the “TranSmart Chip Card, TRD, and TSCM” (Key Components of Cashless System)—had been stolen.

The detective investigating the crime burglary scene said, “This looks like the work of a pro. Just wait and see—whoever uses it first is the thief!

Seeing the fruit of many years of effort stolen, Linda Din wiped away her tears and instead wrote a book chronicling the journey of her creation—"The Daughter of a Defense Employee" (A Lady of Rich Taiwan). Thousands of copies were printed and distributed—from the Presidential Office, Executive Yuan, and political parties, to industry, academia, and research institutions. From Taiwan, the books were sent to the U.S., Canada, and Japan, and even gifted to President Jiang Zemin of China, catalyzing the E-Commerce and cashless revolution on the mainland.

Fig 4: Prophetic book "The Daughter of a Defense Employee"

Throughout this journey, we invested USD 70 million of our own hard-earned money—not for luxury or comfort, but to realize the vision of a “Prosperous Taiwan” (Rich Taiwan). In fact, Taiwan’s per capita income rose from USD 3,000 to over 30,000. But over the past two decades, we’ve suffered relentless and vicious attacks from cartels (corrupt entities). Yet, with unwavering faith, we’ve held firm—“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” (Proverbs 4:18)

On January 20 of this year, in his inaugural address, U.S. President Donald Trump defined that “cartels as foreign terrorist organizations,” thus writing a new chapter for the new generation.

Recall that under the besiege of those cartels, we still accepted the invitation of Barack Obama to attend the 2009 APEC CEO Summit to contribute the way of "Rebuilding the Global Economy." At the Singapore venue, I proposed the "IIA-TES" plan—IIA meaning Invest in America. Through TES’s VAM, we could upgrade 7.5 million vending machines in the U.S. to increase tax revenue, while eStore could create 2 million new jobs, stimulate USD 210 billion in cash flow, and unleash USD 10 trillion in derivative business opportunities.

I further explained that in 2007, Steve Jobs came to our office in Santa Clara. I told him that at the 2006 APEC Leaders' Meeting, the proposal for “Satellite Support” had been approved, making it the perfect time to develop smart mobile devices. The TES TranSmart Chip technology, when combined with smart mobile devices, could facilitate a globally adopted “cashless system” for commercial and civilian use—a concept now known as "FinTech" (Financial Technology).

Fig 6: From TranSmart Chip to A Cashless System

The Obama administration promptly began advancing FinTech development, encouraging innovations in payment systems—such as electronic and mobile payments—and promoting financial inclusion. As a result, TES-related financial technologies blossomed during his presidency and gave rise to various forms of “virtual currency.”

Linda Din invented TES and chose a "contactless cashless system" as a transaction tool, with the primary goal of solving social issues. The “cashless” feature was just a supporting mechanism. Unfortunately, cartels—driven by selfish greed—launched all-out attacks against the original creator, severely distorting the original mission.

Nonetheless, in terms of job creation, our invention did give rise to a vast new class of digital nomads.

Linda Din’s invention, the TES (The eStore System), is the world’s earliest prototype for digital economic governance that simultaneously integrates the following six elements:

1. Contactless digital cashless transactions;

2. Real-time automatic messaging for all participants;

3. Tamper-proof transaction records (via systemic synchronization);

4. Transparency among stakeholders;

5. Social justice orientation;

6. Modular architecture.

TES is essentially the forerunner of virtual currencies. Although its design was not initially focused on decentralization, it was created to address structural social problems. Its architecture emphasizes "practical economic applications" and "social usability," making it a true embodiment of the original commercial blockchain spirit.

Subsequently, TES's “ICT” (Information and Communication Technology) sector spurred robust growth in the semiconductor and memory-related industries. The rise of its virtual currency triggered a mining boom, leading to a significant surge in demand for "Graphics Processing Units" (GPUs). The growth trajectory of NVIDIA’s revenue reveals this trend:

1. In 2003: approx. $1.8 billion;

2. In 2013: approx. $4.3 billion;

3. In 2023: approx. $26.9 billion;

4. In 2024: approx. $609 billion.

As of June 6, 2024, NVIDIA’s stock price before the split was “USD 1,224.4 per share.” Its product was merely one component of the TES framework, yet its market value exceeded USD 3 trillion. After being split into 24.4 billion shares, the stock still held at $141.22 per share, maintaining a valuation of approximately $3.44 trillion.

Here’s a question: If GPU stock can reach “$1,224 per share,” what would be a fair share price for TES?

The answer: After our company was burglarized in 2001, we decided to follow the advice of our friends on Wall Street and pursue a listing on NASDAQ. Merrill Lynch’s investment team estimated that our stock could reach "USD 250 per share," based on the strength of our "intellectual property (IP) portfolio." Unfortunately, entrenched cartels repeatedly exploited public institutions to obstruct our progress, ultimately delaying the realization of our vision for socially responsible investment.

However, our proposed “IIA” (Invest in America) has become a mainstream trend today. TES also stands for "Total Energy Supply" and is an abbreviation for "Technical Education System" reform. More importantly, our “One eStore One Business One Job” initiative will bring five profound benefits to the United States:

1. Economic democratization through mass participation (not oligarchic interests):

1) The “One eStore One Business One Job” model decentralizes the TES modular system to every small business, individual, and community, enabling everyone to generate income through a “digital economic node,” truly realizing universal digital economic inclusion.

2) It is a distributed employment creation model that fosters widespread prosperity, as opposed to a capital-concentrated expansion model—the more helpers, the greater the business opportunity.

2. Fundamental resolution of structural social problems (beyond AI or robotics):

1) TES was originally designed to address issues such as structural unemployment, job vulnerability, cash-related robberies, and information asymmetry.

2) In an era where AI will replace a large share of middle-class jobs, “One eStore One Job” can fill the employment gap for small and micro businesses.

3) Compared to corporations that only drive up stock market value, TES fosters social stability and long-term economic growth.

3. A new economic model based on Digital Infrastructure Economy:

1) TES advocates for a system combining contactless cashless transactions, smart modular logistics, real-time communication monitoring, and system-synchronized recording, which predates today’s blockchain and IoT applications.

2) It offers the same level of infrastructure importance as energy, education, transportation, and water, and provides a concrete platform for local and federal governments to redistribute resources.

3) This system could serve as the core of a next-generation “Digital New Deal” in the United States.

4. A sustainable and resilient local economic ecosystem (more robust than single components):

1) TES’s modular design can adapt to various sectors such as agriculture, cultural industries, retail, tourism, and education.

2) Each eStore is a local economic loop node (a proof of work in real life), supporting community-driven economic self-reliance rather than overdependence on global supply chains or major corporations.

3) Compared to tech industries that rely heavily on high energy consumption and centralized logistics, TES aligns better with future climate and energy constraints, enabling resilient economic ecosystems.

5. Greater GDP growth and large-scale job creation:

1) With “One eStore One Business One Job” as the model, deploying 2 million eStores across the U.S. could create 2 to 10 million direct jobs, far exceeding the employment capacity of the AI or GPU industry.

2) If each eStore generates $100,000 in annual output, total value could reach $200 billion, far surpassing NVIDIA’s $60.9 billion.

3) More importantly, the ICT control center of TES could enable up to USD 36 trillion in annual cashless transactions to flow through the United States.

4) This would significantly enhance digital financial inclusion and the proportion of the middle class, contributing to reduced wealth concentration and income inequality.

Conclusion

At the expert conference which held in New York, we analyzed the past of “TES” (The eStore System) and confirmed that it is the most valuable commercial model and mechanism in human history. The “cashless system” alone has generated an annual transaction volume of 36 trillion in US dollars, marking a monumental achievement in social responsibility investment (SRI). Today, taxi drivers no longer fear being robbed for carrying cash, and people can trade remotely without worrying about payment failures—they can now earn global income from home. This is the new world that Linda Din (Ding Ling-Hong) has created over the past 40 years.

Back in 1986, she didn’t invent TES to start a business or get rich, but to enable the poor to participate in the economy and protect the vulnerable from risk. She received a vision from the Most High and sketched the "TES" (The eStore System)—a gentler vision than any secular technology, one with replicable modules that could transform the world.

Now, under the policy of “Make America Great Again” (MAGA), the call to “Make America Wealthy Again” is rising. That’s why we need "IIA-TES" (Invest in America through TES) to bring about broad-based prosperity.

Looking forward, we must ignite that light that has never gone out—as we affirm TES’s original and foundational status, we also preserve the next generation a beautiful tomorrow. Linda Din’s TES is not only a technological pioneer but also a prophetic model of morality and governance. Her policy advocacy, academic influence, and adoption by multinational enterprises have already yielded concrete results. The next step is to fulfill its deeper calling: a profound empathy for humanity’s condition and a plea for conscience.

TES is not just a cold commercial mechanism or a technical blueprint—it is a mother’s intuition, a citizen’s sense of duty, and a technologist’s soul cry. The years Linda Din stood alone against the cartels, holding firm to her convictions, have finally been answered. TES never disappeared; it was a good seed that weathered the storm and grew into a forest of redwoods, becoming the greatest business opportunity in human history.

In a world still reeling from the shadows of pandemics and war, people are once again searching for trust, safety, and justice—values long embedded in "The TES declaration." The future is not only a defense of originality, but a demand of this new era of the heart. Let us rediscover the value of true innovation, honor those who genuinely prepare for the future, and rekindle that light of social responsibility investment—the light of "TES"—that some tried to erase, but still shines on.

Peter Li-Chang Kuo, the author created Taiwan's Precision Industry in his early years. Peter was a representative of the APEC CEO Summit and an expert in the third sector. He advocated "anti-corruption (AC)/cashless/e-commerce (E-Com)/ICT/IPR/IIA-TES / Micro-Business (MB)…and etc." to win the international bills and regulations.
